TRIED BY THE WORD
A prophetic Word for 2006
Until the time when His Word came to pass,
THE WORD OF THE LORD TRIED HIM!
Here on earth Jesus spoke only truth in love. Some of His words may not sound loving, as when He rebuked the Pharisees; but those hypocrites needed chastening! God says He chastens those whom He loves! (Heb 12:6) The motive for everything Jesus Christ does is Love- especially saving the world (despite lies to the contrary by unbelieving hearts, and unenlightened minds)! This Promise of salvation to all men is unshakable and unbreakable. When God gives His Word, it is more than a solemn pledge; for that Word holds all power for its fulfillment! It is life-bearing! In the parable of the Sower (Lk 8:11) Christ likens the Word of God to a Seed; and Ga 3:26 says, God made a promise to Abraham, and to his SEED! Now, He did not say, to his SEEDS, as of many, but to his SEED, as of ONE, which is CHRIST!
Christ is the living Seed-Word that enters the hearts of men and germinates new life! That Seed-Word is LOVE! John tells the church, Beloveds, let us love one another, for love is of God! He that loves is born of God; and *knows God! [*This is eternal Life- to know Him Who is the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He sent!] He that does not love, does not know God; for God IS Love! His love was manifested to us when He sent His only begotten Son into the world so we could live through Him! Therefore, here is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us! For He made His Son the Propitiation (Atonement, Mercyseat) for our sins! So, beloved, if God so loved us, then we should also love one another. Since no man has ever seen God, if we love one another (as He loves us), it proves that He lives in us; and His Love is perfected in us. We know we live in Him. and He lives in us, because He has given us of His Spirit! Thus we have seen, and do testify that the Father sent His Son to be the SAVIOR OF THE WORLD! (1 Jn 4:14) This is the singular reason that God sent His Son: to redeem His world from sin and death; and to save all of its hapless inhabitants! The Last Adam, Christ, lived and died to save the entire human race that was initially propagated by the first Adam.
The first man, Adam, was made a living soul; as the last Adam (Christ) was made a quickening (live-giving) Spirit. But first we live as natural
beings, then we live as spirit beings. The spiritual nature comes after
the human nature, The first man is of the earth and is earthy; whereas
the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As the earthy live according
to the earthly ways, so they that are heavenly shall live according to the
heavenly ways. As all men have borne the image of the earthy one; so all men shall bear the image of the heavenly One. Thus, my brethren,
I say to you, neither flesh or blood can inherit the Kingdom of God; nor
shall corruption inherit Incorruption. So, behold, I show you a mystery:
we shall not all sleep; but we shall all be changed! In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet- when the final trumpet sounds, all the dead shall be raised incorruptible! We shall all be changed, for
indeed, this corruptible must put on incorruptible; just as this mortal must put on immortality! And when our corruptible (flesh) has put on
Incorruption (spirit), and when this mortal puts on Immortality, then
the written Word will come to pass: Death is swallowed up in victory! So death, where is your sting? And grave, where is your victory? The
sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law; but thank God
Who gives us the victory (over sin and death) through our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brethren, remain faithful,
steadfast, unmoveable, and keep abounding in the Lords Work! For
you may be fully assured that your labor in the Lord is not in vain! (1 Cor 15:45-54)
What is our labor in the Lord? It is the same labor Jesus performed daily throughout His 33 years on earth. One might ask, what Work of the Lord was accomplished by His death on the cross? The answer is: HIS RESURRECTION! If the only work Christ did was to live, and suffer, and die in the flesh of a man called Jesus, then none- not even Himself- would be saved! But SINCE JESUS CHRIST WAS RESCUED FROM DEATH BY RESURRECTION; SO ALL MEN MUST BE RESCUED FROM DEATH BY THE SAME RESURRECTION! And God defines that death as being carnally-minded! (Ro 8:6) It is the mind of flesh that holds men in the chains of death within the prison of unbelief! But just as Pauls chains fell off, and his prison doors flew open, to set him free; so shall all men be released from their helpless, sinful state.
To bring about this glorious redemption, Jesus endured the shame of a weak, flesh body; and He endured the contradiction of sinners; and He endured the rejection of His own people; and He endured the agonizing period of prayer where He sweated blood; and He endured a mock trial by religious hypocrites; and He endured torture by members of His own religious heritage; and He endured the pitiless scourging, slapping, spitting in the face that preceded a public, savage death by crucifixion at the hands of unbelievers! All this He endured because He knew it would result in the salvation of the whole world! Performing miracles was also part of Christs labor here on earth; but until the miracles came to pass, The Word of the Lord tried Him! (Ps 105:19)
Think of this: it took 30 YEARS to prepare Jesus for 3 YEARS of public ministry! Those 3 short years of Christs wisdom and miracles were the result of 30 years in secluded training as the Holy Spirit fully subdued His weak flesh nature before He would face a world of sinful men; a severe wilderness testing; and Gethsemane, *Gabbatha, and Golgotha! [*Gabbatha was the place of Jesus mock trial.]
